Independence Rhode Race

The Bristol Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, July 2nd. In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, this half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest – during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America. The course includes incredible historic homes, a town common and the America’s Cup Museum before heading out along the scenic coastline, through Colt State Park and finishing along the water at Independence Park..

Join us at Guiteras Elementary School as the volunteer firefighters battle for aday of fun and competition. Cheer on your favorites as the battle in the famous “Water Battle”.

Bristol Town Commmon

The 29th annual Fourth of July Foot Races will be held on Wednesday, June 24th. The rain date is June 25th. The races are open to all Bristol residents. Registration will begin at 5:15 PM in front of the Courthouse.

The 1-Mile race is for boys and girls from 3 to 12 years old. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in the 3-6 years old, and the 7-9 years old age groups. The top boy and girl finishers in the 10-12 years old age group will be awarded trophies.

The 2-Mile race has no age restriction. Trophies will be given to the top two male and female finishers.

All participants will be offered tickets to the carnival. Refreshments will be provided.

Old Fashion Day

Bring the kids to the Town Common for some old fashion fun and games. Prizes to all!

Kids of all ages will enjoy soe good old fashioned games. Prizes are awarded and good times are to be had by everyone!

Vintage Baseball

The Bristol Fourth of July Committee presents its Annual Vintage Base Ball Game. Game one will be played by 1864 rules and Game 2 by 1871 rules. The games will be between the Bristol Blues and the Providence Grays. The game will be played at the Bristol Town Common, with the game starting at 12:30 p.m.. There are small grand stands available, bring lawn chairs if desired. There is also a wheel chair accessible bathroom. Complimentary hot dog and soda/water!
